The fish eagle has five times more light-sensitive cells in his eyes than the human eye and he can see five basic colours while the human eye can only see three. The African fish eagle is able to spot camouflaged prey from a distance using his complex vision.
The Giraffe is the tallest animal in the world, up to 5,5m. Has a huge heart to pump blood up to his head when standing.
The Elephant eats about 300kg per day, drinks 150litre water and produces 100kg of dung per day.
The impala is one of the most common and most graceful of all Africa’s antelopes. A slender, agile creature, it can clear formidable obstacles and run at speeds faster than 60km/h. They are fleet runners who can leap up to 10m in length and 3m in height. They use their tremendous speed and agility to avoid predation, and seemingly for pure enjoyment.
The name Mabalingwe is a recast of the Tswana words Mabala a Nkwe, which means "Spots of The Leopard".
